Ethernet / network cables

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Cat6A or Cat7 cable if my internet is 100-300 Mbps?
No. A standard Cat6 cable already supports far more than the speed of most residential internet plans. Cat6A or Cat7 only make sense if you have a high-speed local network (10 Gbps) between devices, like file transfers between computers or a NAS.
Do all USB-C hubs charge my laptop?
No — check that the hub specifies "Power Delivery" (PD) and the wattage it supports. A hub without PD only passes data and video, it won't charge your device while you use it.
Why buy a card reader if my camera already connects via USB?
Because a dedicated reader usually transfers faster than the camera's built-in USB port, and it doesn't drain the camera's battery during the transfer.
